Welcome to Soggy Bottom Retrievers!! Hello, my name is Lauren Daniel- Carter and I am the one in charge of Soggy Bottom Retrievers. It all started with my boy Drake who you see on the left. Drake was our foundation of Soggy Bottom Retrievers. I needed a hunting partner and companion to retrieve our birds and keep me company. Drake more than exceeded my expectations. Then I wanted to get started in producing quality pups for other hunters and families out there.
At Soggy Bottom we have been breeding for 7 years now. We are still considered new to breeding Labrador Retrievers, however I am learning on a daily basis and soaking up as much knowledge as I can to improve our love for the breed. I do all the necessary health clearances on all my dogs which include OFA hips, elbows, eyes, EIC, CNM, PRA, DM, HNPK, RD/OSD, D locus, Patellas, Detention, and Cardiac. We began running hunt test in the Spring of 2015. I started running them in AKC and UKC hunt tests as well as getting their CGC title. In 2019 we titled many of our dogs in Dock Diving also. My goal is to produce offspring that you can enjoy by your side whether it be in a duck blind or in your home. The complete and total combination of your "gentleman gundog".
Some of our pedigrees may not be jam packed with hunt test or field trial titles, however they are out of proven hunting stock and also have individually proven their selves out in the field. We are slowly adding some versatile lines from Field trial and Hunt test lines along with some Show lines. We try our best to match each pairing according to produce a well rounded, stunning working Labrador.
When not training and competing my dogs, I am home with my husband Jacob and son Karson. We are always enjoying the outdoors as a family of hunters, from Deer, Duck, Upland or Fishing, we enjoy it all! I also enjoy barrel racing and competing in rodeos in my free time. I have been blessed to have an amazing support system that has helped me accomplish many things in my life.
